View original topic: Vintage speed exhaust experience? Input wanted
blargon_7 Sun Mar 02, 2025 9:02 pm

Does anyone have experience with either of these two exhausts specifically?
I don't need super loud but also I like a god exhaust note and I'm trying to decide between these two. Its for a 1600.
Any input is appreciated.

Here are the links.

Good product with micro adjustments, be sure to get extra hardware 9 nuts/ bolts) overall a very good product. Went thru 3 engines it still fits. Watch out for cracking but fixable.

Same experience, different engines over time, replaced heat wrap but overall awesome.

Good to hear. Which model do you have?

I run the SKU 155-206-052SF on a 1776 in my SO34. LOVE IT!

Eventually i'll get them on my other buses as well.

On a 2110... nice fit, sounds great. Might be overkill for a stock 1600.

Had to trim the bottom of the bumper to clear the tip.

I also put one on a customer's 1915 Ghia, 8 years ago.

Ran it with an 1835 and lately a 2110 engine. Both are/were dual carb, mild performance. Had to fab up my own heat ducts from rear tin to heater boxes because of angles and space but no other mods for fitment. I love the sound once the engine’s warmed up. Like a dumbass kid reving at the light haha

Price seems to have gone up a bit, but I’d say worth it all day.

I'm glad to hear some feedback like that. I am pretty sold on them.
How's the exhaust tone on the super flow for long drives? Do you ever get tired of it?

FYI, I found communicating directly with VS was problematic due to the time and language difference.

I found it much easier communicating with Ron Lummus and the price was the same. It comes direct from Taiwan and very well packed.

Do you know which tail pipe diameter you have? 50mm or 63mm?

Thanks man.
Sode note, I appreciate you spelling your name with two N's. Some people think it's weird that I spell mine that way.
