| I have a 69 Westy that cranks very slowly once hot. I've installed a relay near the starter to bypass the wiring back up to the switch and get 11.1 volts to the solenoid whether its hot or cold. Could the problem lie in the starter itself? |

Voltage sounds kinda low, try cleaning your ground real good and check tranny ground strap. Adding another ground cable, from the bolt which the regular ground cable secures with, to the lower starter bolt can do wonderful things....
Or it could be a worn starter bushing in the transaxle, or a long in the tooth starter....( or a shiteeee rebuit starter:) |
