Was trying to clean the ice out of the nozzle with a toothpick and broke a piece off in the nozzle (ouch!).

Can anyone help me with the removal of the nozzle so I can get the wood out?

I just did this two weeks ago, but it was to replace them...

1) Buy new ones. They are really cheap. http://www.busdepot.com/details.jsp?partnumber=211955993
2) With a big pair of vicegrips, grab a hold of them and slowly pull them out by wiggling and bending. They will be ruined once you get them out.
3) Switch them.
4) Keep toothpicks in the kitchen. :D

Be extra careful not to scratch the paint. Be extra careful not to drop the hose into the hole, you'll need to remove the dash to get them out.

I used a heat gun to heat up the tips of the hoses in order to swap nozzles, since the hoses were hard and stiff.

the nozzles don't react well to cleaning and will just get plugged again
Replacing is the best option because once you have the old ones off it's going to be a biatch to get them back on so you might as well get new one's
I use a sewing needle to adjust/clean

I hate to steal a thread but...

Does anyone know of a source for the nozzles that have two sprayers in them instead of one? I saw them here:

and wondered if anyone knew of a more local source? Or if someone is by chance going to be in Belgium... :lol:

Grabbing them with the mini vice grips is the right idea. Put some duct tape on your paint before you pull on them in case the pliers/grips slip off them in the process. Turn a quarter of a turn and pull. If you have a hemostat, clip the hose and leave the hemostat on till you are done. This keeps the tube from slipping back in while you are putting the new ones on. This is a MAJOR pain if it happens.

I took out the tank and pump and blew air from a compressor in the tube. It clean out the lines and has work good ever since. Before I did this the passenger side didn't spray at all. Hardest part was aiming the spray with a needle.

I would look at a few cars in a parking lot as I strolled by. Perhaps that way you can find which model make and year used them. Then look locally for a source. On my cars with two holes, it just means I have twice as many maladjusted streams of water.

Bernd Jager of the the Syncro Spazalist in Germany sells washer nozzels that have three sqirters each. I have a set on my Westy Syncro and they work well, though it did take awhile to ajust them. I believe they are from a MB Sprinter that are modified by filing the bottom of the sqriter to go around the bump on the Vanagon You can check them out here

tclark - i ordered some from busman a couple off weeks ago , they should be here soon. will have a look for VW/AUDI part number etc on them.
i have had a look at VAGCAT and think i know what model they came from (euro only model if im right) but not 100% sure and dont want to give you wrong info.
will let ya know as soon as ive had a look at my mates in the car park (parking lot i think you call it :lol: ) and compared them to my new ones

I removed mine using the quarter-twist with vice grips as described above...
Got them out and then removed the tank to clean it and remove some pinched line.

I blew air through them and all seemed good.

Now that it's all back together, the system works, but I have to hold the stalk back for like 10 seconds before any fluid actually appears from the nozzles.

The pump is strong...so it seems like the only other option would be to replace all the hoses with new?

Anyone know how the tubing splits off from the driver's side? Is it just a T?

Jamos -- you might just have a pinched hose. I had the same problem when I didn't position the pump properly, which twisted and pinched the hose.
