Last weekend we moved house and, of course, we used our westy to do it... Let's see you guys your moving pics!!

Day1:

WTF?? Did you ever seen this? A bike trying to pass you over trough the bus!!

I moved from several houses in college and right after using my camper, but don't have any pics...I wish I had a pic of the time I helped a friend move a queen size bed, and we ended up having to hang it out the cargo doors, and drive about 3 miles with them open...
oh, and I put some pics of my crew cab from the last move in the loaded trucks thread...

The best way to move is to rent the biggest truck you can get and do just one single trip! :?

However, I have moved many households, not just mine, with my bus. Not to mention many different types of cargo from lumber (16 footer 2x6s) to a ton of newspapers to gravel even! :P

I didn't agree... best way is a vw bus, handy way is a biggest truck :wink:

i moved from salinas, ca to charlotte, nc this past year. made 3 cross country trips in 3 different busses, all loaded to, or maybe slightly over their weight capacity. here are some pics.
trip 1: many heavy items such as tools, a huge arbor press, engine and transmission parts, etc.

trip 2: boxes of more parts, tools, etc. again, many heavy things.

trip 3: all kinds of everything, more tools, parts, lots of heavy metal items like spindles, flywheeels, starters, etc, etc. and i put more stuff in the bus after these pics were taken.

I've done plenty of hundred trips, load, unload, do over and over, within one day moves! It's a killer! :x

Did drive a fully loaded U-Haul truck and piggyback trailer with my bus also fully loaded with parts all the way across from Tampa to San Diego. Packed all I could and what didn't fit got either given away or just plain thrown out! 8)

being cute pretty much comes as standard in Spain, at least it does in Madrid and the bits I've been to, I've never been to Barcelona.

yo nunca a tenido a mover en una Kombi, pero lo ha usado para varias cosas. lo que no intiendo es como este gente lo usan para irsen de California hasta sur Carolina. es bien peligroso. oh, su Westy si es suave!! orale!!

I moved half my house in my SC from Escondido to Oceanside. Not bad but I gave that up and got a real truck since I did not want to break my SC.

It isn't about breaking the bus for it can take it. It's your back after doing so many trips since you can only load so much at a time. Not to mention that normally you get but one day to move! :wink:

I've moved 1 too many times already and what I do is have a moving party! Invite as many friends as I can, provide pizza and beer, rent a huge forkin truck, load everything once, drive to the new place, unload everything once, and party on! :P

I'll never pack the flip-seat like this again. It was a really long & slow drive from Modesto,CA to San Diego,CA. Even the ice box was packed to the max.

I once went to see a '64 camper that was packed with household stuff. It was so full, all I could see through the windows was a tiny bit of bright blue dash. Don't know how they thought it would sell if the buyer couldn't see it. They swore it had AC, but how to tell?

moving in the 80s loaded to the window line and full u crawl. we lost a section of the clutch and had to swap it in new mex in a gravel lot. we pulled one of the doors off the u crawl to go under the floor jack for pulling the motor. 1600cc w trailer we couldn't get it over 30 mph on the passes
