Dear Martin. Totally saddened to hear the news about Erich. Our hearts and prayers go out to you and all the family. Peggotty, Hans, and I remember very fondly the Kircher brothers riding behind the Kdfwagen protecting our back on the Return to the Fatherland Tour. A positive attitude definitely helps in illness so always look to the bright side. Erich - Wish you the best.

Other than perhaps seeing a few more gray hairs (or a few less hairs), or a little more weight around the waist, it is amazing how we take for granted that we will see the same people at the same various VW shows year after year. It is when news of the illness of one of our fellow VW enthusiast that really puts life in perspective. Funny how all those petty little things we argue about really become so trivial. My thoughts and prayers are with you and Wendy as you go through your recovery journey. Lloyd

Erich, hang in there, you will be fine. Cancer treatment has come a long way in recent years.

My wife had breast cancer recently, diagnosed in Nov 06 when she was 29. It was caught early and she had surgery, chemo and radiation and the cancer is now gone. At the time it was diagnosed, our daughter was only 11 months old. So I know what your family is going through in a way.

Keep doing the things you love and keep positive and take it day by day, and this will pass and you will be fine.

Hello Friends,
I am home again after a week stay in the Hospital.
I cannot tell you how it feels to have everything you hold dear torn from you. My wife, my home and my one month old son mean so much to me. And not to be around them for that time was torture.

The next couple of months will be a test of my strenght. But I look at it like a short term "restoration project". I must get healthy not only for myself and family but for all of you.

You have no idea what your words of encouragement mean to me.
I never knew that such an out pouring of support was possible.
My involvement in the VW hobby spans over 27 years. I have never regretted ever being part of it. They joy and good times I have experienced can never be replaced. Nor would I give it up in some kind of miracle cure.

I will be better. I will be well again. I will enjoy the hobby with all of you.

Thank you so much.
Please keep the kind words and support coming.
I need the help.

Sincerely,
Erich Kircher

With love from Wendy and Karsten.
