Hi,
It seems I have found the "forever bus", & the odometer is forever stuck at 42000. Has anyone had and fixed a problem like this? Is it likely just a gear that has broken or something I can fix on my own? I just like to be able to calculate my mileage. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Well whadda you know, I fixed it on my own! As soon as I took the bezel off, the 1/10 mile plastic cog dropped on the floor - must have come loose at some point. Good thing it wasn't broken or stripped. A bit of sanding and cleaning of the numbers spindle & some plastic to metal glue & it's working again. I should have taken the time to re-set it to zero miles, hmmm...

When I bought a trip speedo for my Bay the miles weren't turning. I took the back off and there was a star shaped cog on the end of a bar. It was cracked and thus wouldn't turn the gears. I was lucky and had another Bay speedo (non-trip) that had a brass cog. I switched them out, sprayed some Lithium grease on it, put the back on and it worked fine.
