I saw the blues when they were flying F4's in the late 60s.
Don't know how many times I've seen them since, 2 dozen probably.
They are awesome. |

if you enjoy high gas prices, be sure to thank the largest consumer of petroleum in the world, the United States department of defense.
(I think that gas is too cheap) |

We used to call flying "turning taxpayers' dollars into fun" |

I always thought a P-51 fuselage scaled down in 3 pieces would make a cool chopper! |

Exactly! I'm about 3 miles from the Watsonville Airport (between the airport and the beach) we get a great show at the airport and at least a few fly overs at the house.
The Blue Angels rip but I hate dealing with crowds.
Oh and don't let those "Frisco" boys hear you callin' it "Frisco" or they'll beat you silly with their purses...... |

I've only been to an "Antique Air Show", just this last summer, actually. Pretty much air-cooled. Flew in with a friend in his "Bamboo Bomber". Oily smoke blowing into the cabin, "Nothing to worry about." then the inside door handle broke and we were stuck a spell wrestling the door open once we had landed.
It's a different world, and not fuel efficient.

SWEET! Cessna Bobcat, UC-78, also known as the "double breasted cub", "useless 78", and "rhapsody in glue". Great airplane that taught many cadets multi-engine technique. I always had an affinity for it and the Twin Beech. I liked sitting at Oshkosh and listening to the old pilots tell tall tales. I hate people who get rides in cool planes...cuz I never do! |

Ya, that's the one. He also flies a 1931 Fleet biplane. Now that's fun, open cockpit and all. The "Bomber" is just righteously handsome.

Too bad the Angels always get the bottom of the barrel when it comes to aircraft, their jets are always so old. Better them than me I guess, I'd hate to have to maintain those things. A model Hornets, ewwww. |
