I have searched over the forums and gathered some great info about the rag top grafting.
I have a 57 beetle and found a nice rag top 57 the body is shot and a perfect candidate for a donor.
Does it really take away from the value to graft a rag top or will it add to value. Yes my 57 is on the original pan. I guess it is personal likes Has any one had it done professionally and what did you pay.
thanks and I love this site. Volkswagens really bring folks together

| Personally, I feel the rag top transplant is totally cool as long as it is done right. Of course, splits are easier to graft in than an oval style top. I had West Coast classics put a three-fold in my '51. Like I said, if it is done right, who wouldn't prefer a sunroof car? |

This is pretty much the only area where I could lean towards being a purist.
If someone wants a ragtop, then they should get one. |

I havent purchased the car yet, just thinking about adding a rag top. weighing pro's and con's of cutting up my original car. I think it will be worth it and will purchase this other 57.
Hope to post pictures of the work soon, thanks for everyone's thoughts
