Hi,
The P.O. removed the emergency brake system from the car and welded a plate over the cut out in the tunnel the tubes are not in there either. This car is not street driven it is only used off road.. Is there a way to put a emergency brake system in the car? After market? Any thoughts?

Are you sure that the tubes are gone? When I shortened
my chassis, I shortened the tubes also.
I left enough room between the end of the tubes and the
back of the new ebrake that I can tie the cables together
inside the tunnel. If the tubes are still in there, maybe you
can come up with something similar. I used the brake lever
out of a ford focus.

I have one that the same thing was done to it. I'm going to cut a brake mount section out of a scrap chassis and weld it in place.
The tubes were cut off inside the tunnel at about where they pass the torsion tube. They're still in place at the rear where they come out of the frame horns. I'm going to weld a couple short sections of tube inside the tunnel right up behind the bottom of the brake handle to guide the cable the last 3 or 4 inches before the handle . The cable will run in the open for about a foot inside the tunnel past the access cover, but that won't matter if there is tube at each end to guide them. |

Well they will only do it once. I lost my brakes going down a dirt road. About 1 mile or so further I would have been on a steep down hill road. I have a e brake / disk brakes. |
