Work is sending me to Califonia in two days, and I was wondering what I MUST see/do while I'm out there. Any good shops, cruises, meets going on next week?

My first time to the west coast, and I'll be there for a week.

THanks for anything :)

I'm not sure when you are getting here, but Bug-In 33 is Sunday in Fontana! It will probably be huge!

You could have gone to the Bug-In if you were gonna be here this weekend.

Doh! Beat me to it...

Make sure to visit the Goat Hill Tavern (Do a google on it). They have something like 140 beers on tap -- it's ridiculous, actually, but worth the visit. You'll likely never see that many again.

Newport Beach is right there as well -- or you cruise up the coast a couple of miles and visit Huntington Beach. There you'll be able to check out where they hold all of the surfing competitions.

I highly suggest you drive to the ocean. Drive southbound on the road that runs right next to it. (The ocean will be on you RIGHT). This road is called Pacific Coast Highway (PCH for short) and basically runs the entire length of the state. Drive to a place called Balboa. There is a pier there. You have to eat at the "Ruby's on the pier". It's a 1940's style Diner that is pretty cool.

The Drive down PCH is an experience in itself.

Now that I live on the East Coast, I am always teasing my co-workers here about the beach. "What's the matter?", they'll say. I'll say "Nothing, it's just that the water is on the wrong side."
