i have a tire for my little dune cat go cart, the tread is good but the sidewall has some cracks in it that are leaking, a new tire is 40 bucks, more than i want to spend, i am wondering can i put a tube in it? a tube is like 20 bucks and fits my budget way better

If you can't afford the right tire for your vehicle, you can't afford to drive it. Seriously, why are you even asking this question??? Have you tried duct tape??? Lordy.

you can put the $20 tube in the bad tire but is the bad tire not going to fail before long anyways and take the $20 tube with it ? plus you will buy the new $40 tire in the end total cost $60. but if $20 is all you have then thats all you have. kinda of a pay me now or pay me more later kinda deal...

This is a little late for an April Fool's gag.

The cracks are more than likely dry rot and WILL fail and take the tube with it. SAVE UP!

i dont know about so cal but in oklahoma you can buy a good used maypop for $20 at just about every tire shop.

just spend the extra 20 to get it done right, maybe what you are saying would be worth it if the new tires were like $120 or something.

jeesh. its a go cart!

Run it like it is and air up as needed, try the spray in tire stop leak if ya don't mind dealing w/ the mess when you replace/fix it for real, or stick a tube in. Although I agree, if the tire comes apart you'll be out the $20 tube and still need to spend another $40 on a tire.

What size is it? $40 seems high for a go-cart tire.

No doubt. But it ain't like he's gonna have a blowout at 90mph on the 405 or anything if he puts a tube in one of the tires.

Tube it! If the side wall gives up, maybe you'll have a neat looking bubble of tube sticking out for a while before that blows up too.

And if you catch it in time, you may be able to save the tube.

im thinkin just get rid of the tires and put wooden wagon wheels on it...that would make it cool
