58 and earlier they often matched the color of the Bus.

For example, Palm Green/Sand Green Buses had 2-tone wheels to match.

59-up are Silver White except in special circumstances.
You can see those colors listed in the Paint & Upholstery section of the site

Was it possible in the 1966 to choose your new bus from the dealership ,with 16 wheels like optional?

or it was possible only 14 and 15?

if it was possible, does anyone have document or somethink to show me?

thanks

I don't know but I would guess No on getting either 16" wheels or 15" wheels in 1966.

14" wheels were standard, I'm not sure why they would "downgrade" you to the earlier and thinner wheels.

Hi,

I found these Lemmerz rims recently. Both are stamped 5JK X 14 and have the same Lemmerz code 1481. The one is from 12/66 and the other one is 4/69. One is riveted, the other one welded. Both have the same ET of approx. 48 to 48.5mm which identfy them as bus rims. Both come with a hump on the outer side.

Now the younger one has significantly smaller slots. Does anyone have a clue?
I have another welded one from 68 which also shows the smaller slots. Do all welded rims with hump show these small slots or are those early bay window versions? The slots are barely visible from the outside and the rims look almost like Thing rims.

Up to date my understanding was that until 1970 the rims looked all the same. But these definitely are different...

Yes, the wheels bolt up.

BUT if I remember right they might grind against the upper grease zerks in the front if you try to drive with them.
I might be thinking of 14s here though...

A friend of mine had some in a recent stash purchase, but they are long gone now. None of mine are like that as I recall.

Wow. I wonder if they pass muster. Anyone here seen them up close yet? Seems like a damn good price if they are anywhere close to correct and of decent quality.

That's what I was thinking, good deal for wheels ready to roll with clips and correct paint. It even looks like they replicated the factory overspray.

Do you think the WW wheel might have the slot size of crow’s foot style (long slot). Kinda hard to tell from their pic.

Non-crow (shorter slot):

Wow! Impressive that they stepped up and had the 15" wheels reproduced, pretty much ready to mount your tires to and take off. Way to go WW!

Nice, I hope they do meet muster and bring down the insane prices people are asking for originals! I felt had after paying $50 for a semi-decent one a while back...without clips, but it was date-coded the same as my DC.

These WW ones looks great, especially the colors and overspray. Hopefully, someone tries them soon and reports back. $109 is more than fair, if they check out.
