Just want to thank Mark Merrill for opening up his Museum and providing a catered lunch and the ability to do a complete tour of his facility and sit around and jaw with other VW perverts.
Mark is a proud example of our hobby and a hell of a guy. I look forward to next years show and seeing what is new.

Mark let me tke his two-tone green 1950 Convertible, and drive it down the back roads, from San Jose, to Solvang, and back. I even did a story on it when I was working for VW Trends, called "Splitting to Solvang"
A true gentleman, down to earth, and totally into the VW thing. |

The best part about Mark's collection is that each year, he does this so that VW collectors can get together to jaw with each other. We are, indeed, very lucky.
It's not just an amazing collection of VW's and parts, but his literature collection and accumulation of VW advertising is incredible. And the toys....when did he get that VW toaster? Did anyone get a picture of that? |

Just a note to tell Mark, thank you for the wonderful open house at your museum and shop. My gratitude goes to you, your wife and all the others that assisted you .....john, tiki chris, and of course ray. Wonderful collection of car, toys and people
It's nice to know there are still a few collectors that enjoy seeing others enjoy your passion!
thanks again |
