Admired it lovingly.

Admired it lovingly.
R&R valve cover gaskets. Stripped, primed and painted the valve covers.
Admired it lovingly.
Adjusted carb idle.
Took it to Tims for coffee and watched others admire it lovingly.
I love Bugs!

Tried to figure out why one of the taillights wasn't working and succeeded (bad ground and corroded tabs).
Tried to figure out why the brake lights aren't working but got nowhere.
Let's just say the previous owner enjoyed modifying the electrical system a little too much. I'm thinking of starting over and taking it back to complete stock, but I like some of what he did and I want to drive it this month! |

Installed an amp that sits on top of the glove box.
Pulled the aftermarket radio (I have a sapphire I but I'm waiting for the face plate to arrive).
Cleaned up, masked out and painted an oil bath that will replace the bling bling chrome pancake one when the rest of the parts are in stock at Mid America... |

the week before that i washed it and drove it.
the week before that i drove it.
next weeks itenary includes tracking down exhaust leak, new axle seal, replacing tie rod end and maybe ball joints as well if the bank will let me. probably should wash it again. oh and drving it. |

Ripped out the old interior on my 67 T1 (was cheap aftermarket black carpet)
Installed Wolfsburg West carpet set and OG 67 gray floor front vinyl mat and repo vinyl rear mat. (looks like interior pictures of 67 car manual now)
After getting two 67 only seats over the winter started recovering them after watching the Wolfsburg West how to DVD several times. Ripped off all the old material on them and repainted the frames in black.
Finished the 67 drivers seat on Sunday afternoon and installed it..it looks and feels great. The side release knob is original and works good.
I will have to finish the passengers side seat next weekend, but overall made good progress for one weekend. I wanted to get all this done before summer and hot weather. |

yesterday i adjusted my valves, and tried to find the dreaded exhaust leak. adjusted the carbs, checked tire pressure, and drove it home.
last week, i did a burnout, blew an oil line, replaced that. half way home from some friends house, blew another oil line(same day) fixed that the next day and went on a 200+ mile bug cruise. |

That oil pump plate is supposed to be black! Also make sure you remove the paint off the connecting rods before going too much farther.
As for what I did with my VW this week..... I let it sit out in the rain. The other 2 just collected dust. |
