1 and 1/4 gallons of ppg concept , will this be enough to paint my 73' standard beetle ? I am painting everything under the fenders and the hood , decklid , front and engine compartment, interior dash area and of course the outside , when I did a search in this forum , i read from 2 qts to 4 qts , but it didn't state if they were just talking about painting the outside of the car ??? Thanks , JP |

Yeah that should be right, thats how much I bought, haven't painted the hood yet but got a little less than a quart left, also did some touch up, and wasted just a little, so you should be fine |

Concept covers pretty good. in my opinion you'll probably have a quart or so left over even with doing everything. unless your wastefull with it...ken.... |

That seems high for an HVLP. As far as a specific pressure to run, that will vary depending on the gun you are using and your technique. The main problem with running too high a pressure is that you will produce more overspray, effectively reducing the ratio of amount of paint applied to the surface you are spraying and the amount actually exiting your gun. Basically, you are reducing the effectiveness of an HVLP gun and using an excess of material..
If that setup is something you are comfortable with and don't want to change anything, just move quicker. |

yeah theres always fine tuning the psi to your speed rate. some people like to turn down and move slow. i tend to run on the high side but move fast. there should be psi recommendations on your can(s) or ppg has all that tech info on their site. either way at 40psi you better be movin' hahahaha. turn it down some and play with your settings while spraying the trim out areas....ken.... |
