Are there any kits for Late model Supers? Or where could I find a roll cage or instructions on turing my super into a Convertible??

Something fun to do with a late model super?

The possibilities are endless but most involve destroying the car.

Is the car in decent condition ? If so sell it and buy a wreck to hack job. I don't think it would be a good idea to turn one into a vert.

Just make it a baja.

Roll cage? I hope you don't plan on driving the car on the road after you do that, because those aren't street legal?

Turning a sedan into a convertible? Have you thought that through? Go to the Paint/Body forum and read up on the sticky about the convertible reinforcement rails. You're better off buying a convertible than hacking a car to bits and ultimately abandoning the project.

Are you saying that you believe roll cages affect the legality of it being on the road? That is certainly not the case. Maybe I am misunderstanding your assertion.

Check state/local laws regarding the legality of a roll cage in a vehicle. In many states, they are illegal for street vehicles.

I was thinking 50 state legal, but I could be wrong. The federal government even certifies padding for use on roll cages for street use that is 50 state legal.

I've been building cages for over 40 years and never heard of a state that,, they are not street legal in ,,including Idaho...

I love the trem hack job ,, This means some of the most sought after VW's are Hack job's ???? and that all vert's up till the late 70's were hack jobs.

Jam sure karma body works would agree

I have no idea what your talking about. Jelly and pre 70's verts?

He wants to cut the top off his bug and build a roll cage to compensate for the lack of support. Then end result is a hacked up car no one would want to buy.

Hacked off top's can be done well.

What he is referring to is how Karmann made the verts.

LOL,, so sorry to confuse you,, I just got out of bed when that was written ,,, It's a no brainer to figure out when someone miss' a key ...

my guess is there's many that have no clue how vert's were made ... along with a few of the other coach built cars...

Here is a guy with an Idea,, but what he gets is put down,, told it's not legal,, told he's a hacker .... which seems to be one of the biggest thrill half you people have,,, put the other guy down ...

There's a difference between a doer and a talker ...If the Blue one above is the car I think it's is...Thats about a $25,000 to $30,000 car...

Sy ya add a roll cage and HACK the car,, there's no vaue in it your right ... LOL

If only it had a hood, windshield, rear lights, seats or an engine. It's not "done" it's just "started".
