NOOOOOOOOOO...

Rest in peace.. or as he would have liked it, put a big middle finger as his headstone

Long-roofs Sun Jun 22, 2008 11:08 pm

Wow...that is sad news.

Vanhag Sun Jun 22, 2008 11:14 pm

How the hell did you NOT see this one coming?

Only the people who don't know George will think this is bad news.

Vanhag Mon Jun 23, 2008 12:20 am

I never got to see him live... I liked his last HBO special.

It was George that said "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away". You will be missed...............................

Back in the early '70s I bought a friend the Lp w/ the 7 dirty words you can't say on tv, his Mom made him return it...

He was one funny SOB.

A comedy genius is gone; he will be missed.

Carlin and Pryor. Every kid I knew had at least one album of theirs in the 70's.

George certainly pushed the limits of acceptable comedy content. He was great!

I remember one monologue he did about smoking up on a plane.

"You can get on and get off or..... you can get off and get on"

The news today said at a concert, he once got a ticket for disturbing the peace by saying the seven words you'll never hear on TV.

I have one of his cassette tapes from the early 70's. Gonna have to pull that out and have a listen. (Anybody got a cassette tape player anymore?) Maybe I'll convert to 8 track instead

Shit, Piss, Cunt, Fuck, Cocksucker, Motherfucker, and Tits! This is bad news.

I got to see him twice just after his wife had died. He was exceptionally bitter, but the genius was there. I also have a book.

I will miss him, but he left us 22 record and 3 books.

"You can prick your finger but you can't finger your prick."

Yet another nugget of wisdom George passed on to me. And he was going to be given the Mark Twain award for comedy at the Kennedy Center later this year. They're going to give it to him posthumously but it's still sad to see him go.

He was just here a minute ago.

There it is, thee seven words of George's wisdom. He was different, others try to emulate but just can't get it. The guy was brilliant and exceptionally funny.

There will never be another comedian as great as George Carlin, RIP.

"But Tits doesn't even belong on the list. It's such a friendly word:'Tits, meet Toots. Toots,---Tits'. "

Sad news, indeed.
"I'm gonna fuck ya, and I'm gonna fuck ya sloooow"

So many pearls of wisdom and wit came from George Carlin
(occupation: Foole)
that he will truly be missed.

A true genius has been taken from us...

He was one funny SOB alright. I remember his weatherman routine. " the forcast for tonight----Dark! continuing mostly dark, followed by widely scattered light in the morning" and "you souldn't confuse a Canadian low with a Mexican high"
Funny stuff!!
