I have been getting massive rejects again from bellsouth & sbcglobal today.

I have reported it to them (again) but I believe it takes up to 48 hours for them to fix it.

If you have Classifieds alerts or other emails going to one of those domains, they will not be arriving but will start up again once they fix it.

This is still ongoing, I have emailed them multiple times and hope they clear the block soon.

If you are a member not getting emails, feel free to contact them too.

All emails from my site to members with these emails are being blocked.
Classifieds alerts, emails to ads, PM notifications, registration emails or password resets, everything.

If you do not know how to contact your customer support, you can also report it here:

Everett, is this related to my 550 error message and slow service for Samba that we exchanged messages about recently? As of 2 days ago (last time I logged into my computer) the Samba was still VERY slow. My ISP is ATT.

No, this is just about them blocking emails.

If you have trouble you could try to run a
tracert thesamba.com
from your computer and see if anything is listed as slow and report that to your internet provider.

Top google result:
How to run Tracert

Example from my computer:
Code: tracert thesamba.com

Tracing route to thesamba.com [104.20.19.150]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

  1     8 ms    11 ms    15 ms  10.84.0.1
  2    14 ms    13 ms    32 ms  100.127.71.18
  3    18 ms    17 ms    19 ms  70.169.77.78
  4    19 ms    18 ms    18 ms  68.1.0.187
  5    17 ms    17 ms    19 ms  162.158.140.253
  6    13 ms     9 ms     9 ms  104.20.19.150

Trace complete.

The speeds above are ok.
I'm not sure what would be considered slow though, probably something consistently over 100-150ms.
The first few "hops" are your local connection / local internet, including the router at your house so if those are slow then it's your router at your house or your internet.

Everett, I am an @sbcglobal.net email address user so per your instructions I've reported utilizing the link you provided above. My question is until this matter is fixed how do we know if we're missing communications to our ads we have posted, PM's etc??

EverettB Thu Jan 07, 2016 10:40 pm

Thanks for reporting it.

You will not know if you are missing emails. PMs you can see when you login though, the site gives you a message at the top "2 new PMs" or whatever.

Classifieds I will try to resend anything that was missed once they fix it.

I see you got one email on one of your ads - I sent you a PM with the buyer's email

I do have an update:
Someone from sbcglobal finally contacted me.
They are working on it.

As of 10:10 a.m. CST I started receiving emails again on my @sbcglobal.net account. Hope they have the problem permanently fixed. Thanks for the assistance Everett

EverettB Fri Jan 08, 2016 10:43 pm

Yes, it should be fixed now.

For those users with ads on the site, I resent any inquiries you got from the past 2 weeks.

I will not be resending classifieds alerts - there are too many and it is not possible to accurately figure that out.

This has been happening again for the past few days.
I reported it last week and emailed them again today.

Everett, have you been having problems with Cox regarding emails? My Cox email account hasn't been receiving TheSamba emails today (but I was receiving site emails last night).

EverettB Tue Aug 23, 2016 4:43 pm

Not to the best of my knowledge - I haven't seen any rejects from Cox.

I have Cox internet at my house and the outgoing email server has been somewhat slow lately. (Off and on) but I don't know if that is a factor.
I don't use the Cox email myself.

I ended up getting one email from TheSamba today, but that has been it. I'll check my account settings on this site to see if there's something that I need to change.

sbcglobal is currently blocking emails from my site again.

I have emailed them but if you are a sbcglobal/att email customer it could help if you contact them too.

Also - A couple sbcglobal people have emailed me to say they are not getting emails from the site but you probably didn't get my replies since I'm being blocked.
