busmania wrote: Hey denver folk. My bus is away for the winter getting some much needed repairs. One of the things on my list ist rebuilding the trans. Is there ANYONE in denver that does this or is my only option shipping it to california? Thanks.
Quote: Yep, I have asked them. They ship it out. Im thinking that is really my only option. I want the trans I have in my bus rebuilt because I really like the gearing. It seams slightly taller than a stock big nut yet not quite as tall as a freeway flyer....plus I think its og to the bus.
Just an FYI for you CO folks. Painters is now rebuilding transmissions (or sending them to someone that does them). They did mine (actually just swapped the trans and rebuilt teh RGB's). It cost a little more than sending it to Cali, but im happy i was able to keep it local. I have not installed it yet but will be doing so in the next few weeks. Hoping im happy with my choice to go from 4.37 to 4.12. We will see! |

Hey Howard. It was about 1000. Uses mustang rotors and 4 piston willwoods, porsche pattern. Came with all seals and bearings pressed in and lubed with new master and bay window style axle nuts. |

Do you guys ever go to this VW junkyard up on CR 5 or 7 here in Erie. I see a ton of busses over the fence. I will try to do a walk through today and see if they have any of the old busses you guys like. I'll get pics if I can. KYLE |

Oh so you have been there!!! I live about a mile and a half from there. Let me know when you guys rally up there. We can do a BBQ on my deck. I have that same killer view and the deck is 40 x 16, we have had 60 on the deck for a Summer Solstice Party last year. I'd be glad to host it. |

Many of you know Rob Cress and his current situation. I just received a call from his Sister, who has been taking care of him since he was diagnosed and treated for brain cancer. Rob is currently in the hospital and unfortunately, his time with us is likely measured in hours. If you know Rob, please send him a text message to let him know you're thinking of him. His sister is relaying the messages, bed-side, to him. As you can imagine, he can use all of the support that we can give him. His number is 970.418.1091. Please include your name in the message so that his Sister can relay the message.
Thanks.
