It's unusual to see a PG/SG '58 with a third brake light deck lid.
Mine has a Nov. 6, 1957 build date and has a 3rd brake light lid.
I figured that the original flat lid was replaced at some point.
It's a very ratty 3rd brake light lid but would work. Was considering Gerson's '58
funky green lid. It's just an odd look without the bubble tail lights. But I dig it!!! |

The lid and lights changed in april 57. That lid is incorrect if its a july bus. |

completely agree. Still looks great, i would do it, and i would have semaphores, too.
3rd brakelights through 57, then again starting in the mid 70s. now the law. I say run a 3rd brakelight lid. |

| On an old bus, it is not a third brake light. It is the only brake light. |

Here’s another one to add to the files. My original paint May 1958 PGSG Westfalia Camper that came out of North Dakota. It’s been parked for 45 plus years. Can’t wait to apply a little CLR and TR3 to this one!

Don’t know how I missed this pic. 2020 was a messed up year, though. Does anyone know what road this pic was taken on ? |

| Nice! A set of pin stripes would really set it off. Bet it feels good to be driving it! |

Hey everyone! I just recently picked up a very rare 2/3 soft green bench from an auction in rural South Dakota! Its been in a barn for decades and the PO is deceased so I'm unsure of how it ended up there or where the rest of the bus is (as the PO had 0 other VW related things to give any clues). Not sure specifically what year this bench is from, but I am of the understanding it is a 55-58 PGSG soft green bench that would've also been the uncommon walk-through option because it's a 2/3. Only cosmetic defects are the missing armrest, a 2 inch separation in the trim on the bottom half towards the center, and 2 small cracks on the bottom half next to the second seam from the right. The bottom rails also had 2 holes drilled in each with boards attached to them when I picked it up. I'm looking to sell in the near future as I don't have a PGSG and would love for this to go to someone in need of an OG 2/3 bench. Keep an eye out in the classifieds for it or shoot me a message if interested. Thanks

| Nice find. glad it went to someone with some VW knowledge that is wiling to get it into the right hands, rather than getting thrown in the dumpster after the auction was done. |

| Lind's walk-through, or old PGSG walk-through has a 2/3s seat. I believe it was nice with kick panel. I have photos somewhere. |
