I need some advice on a 1995 Win. EuroVan Camper. It has 65k and one owner. It looks like no one even used it. It is loaded. I really know very little about these campers so I need some advice. The dealer wants $25,000 for it. I looked thru the classifieds and could hardly find anything like this. The gas mileage is of course an issue but my Toyota Rav 4 gets about 18 to 20 mpg, which I was told the Camper gets.
The financing of course is high but with the money from the Rav would really cut down monthly payments.
It's also hard to buy a 95 when who knows what's coming down the pike.
If the wife thinks it is a good idea I am going to have my local trusted VW shop give it a full inspection.
But I need a sanity check quick! |

| Is this the monster Rialta miniRV or the "Eurobago" with the poptop? $25k for either sounds high, like they stuttered with the zeros perhaps. |

| I bought my 95 Eurovan Camper here on the Samba for $9950. It had 118,000 miles or so on it but had a dealer installed new engine at about 110,000. Automatic tranny, runs nice but needs an exhaust system repair, some cosmetic work (3 dents) and no rust. Your deal sounds high unless it is TOTALLY mint. |

| I am not sure what the jargon means but the Camper is advertised at: http://consumerguide.cars.com/go/search/detail.jsp...amp;aff=cg |

| That's a nice looking van , but no way is it worth 25k. It doesn't even have airbags, which later VR6 ones did. You can get a 99 or so for that kind of money with reinforced body and airbags for 25k or less. I'd pay 15 for that 95 and that's it. my two cents. |

Thanks everybody. That's eventually the feeling from looking at adds that I came up with.
Thanks again, and I should know enough not to think about buying when you don't know enough.
Actually the wife squashed the deal anyway, but still you guys made me feel like I wasn't losing the "One". |

| $15k was the right price, maybe $18k if it was a stick. You made the right decision. |
