Hi Guys,
got some photos handed over from the bottom of the dove blue Wheelerdealer panel. Sadly I got no permission to publish them here.
Who knows this van has certainly noticed the water drain indents around the windscreen wiper axis - normally typical for post-BD buses. Anyway - this could have been replaced after an accident later in the van´s life.
What gripes me much is a view at the rear axle: BD friction shock absorbers BUT late POST -55 gearbox mount (the bent bar between the chassis rails; a tube on BDs, a U-shaped profile on later buses).
How does that fit? Is this panel perhaps a late BD, did they make such body and chassis changes already BEFORE March 1955?
I don´t suppose this car having been subject to extensive body surgery because this would have surely extended the car´s value during its working life.
Does anybody have a guess?
Ben published a photo in the gallery under http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/album_search.php?...t_dir=DESC
Regards,
