Check on the prices of limited production resin cast kits of obscure cars on ebay. A few of them get upwards of $100 though depending on the prices right now the limit might be higher

Hard to say for sure......I've never placed a dollar figure on a model I build for myself. When I did replica work for customers, the price was dependent on how much I had to spend in kits & how much work it took to make it correct; no two carry the same value. The most I've ever charged for a single replica was about $125....at present, I've got just under $300 invested in kits alone on these two Buses :o . I really, REALLY need to make these work.

Sourcing parts on even a model project can send costs through the roof. Here's a couple of examples: The Hasegawa kits come with "open" 66-ish Beetle-style wheels; I picked up two Gunze-Sangyo ovals just for the wheels/hubcaps/tires, and laid out $40. Two of the AMT 'Hogans Heros' Jeeps donated their three-spoke steering wheels; luckily those two only cost me $20. The ovals can still be used at some point, but the Jeeps are useless to me; I'll probably trade those away for something more useful someday.

Hey plasticman1432 your model barndoors are gangsta!
