good question...
11 members total...but 4 of those members make up 2 couples each with their own acvws (shawn & tarrah and chris & gina)...and we're all about family so if you start adding up wifes, girlfriends & kids....then...
the most important part to us was to maintain a tigh knit group of close friends that enjoy having a good time and can keep it casual and relaxing without having politics or heavy hands involved.
we have known and been friends with all of our new club members for many years...so we felt it would be a great fit to have them officially join in on our shenanigans!! 8) |

hey everyone...please keep your eyes & ears open for this car...
a very good friend of ours and member of another local club (DVKK) had his black 54 oval window stolen early this morning (december 1st between 12am and 7am) from his home in Vancouver Canada.
please be on the look out for the car as a whole or it's parts...porsche alloys, 2L ida motor, berg linkage, "volkswagen" hood script, "VW volkswagen" right rear fender script (the aristocast winnipeg kind), Orange Renfree license plate frame, ribbed doors, green upholstered seats, semiphores, heart tail lights, w decklid...
there is a $1000 reward for any info that leads to the recovery of this car.
if anyone knows or hears anything, please pm me asap and i will put you in touch with the owner.

| I really liked your original look. Nothing wrong with deviating with different looks, but the original design will always be the "Original". 8) |

Hello!
I have a clutch kit for my 73 transporter vw van and need help replacing the clutch. I work on my bus as much as I can but have never dropped the engine before and would love some guidance from someone with more experience than myself! I have tools (and am willing to buy those that I don't have). I have two rolling floor jacks. I am willing/wanting to do as much of the physical work as I can, I just need some help and guidance. I am a professional guitarist and guitar teacher by trade and would be interested in trading some lessons for your help.Or I have plain old PIZZA AND BEER if you prefer!! Please let me know if you know of anyone in the Vancouver area who would be interested or if you have any ideas about how i might find someone.
Thanks for any suggestions! |

hi haemish,
where abouts in vancouver are you? what kind of questions/concerns did you have about dropping the motor? how soon did you need to do this work? do you have manuals for your bus (haynes, bentley, john muir) and have you read them to become more familiar with the job?
i'd love to help you, but i'm totally swamped with work and trying to piece my own car (64 beetle) back together. after my car's done i may be able to help you out a bit but i cant confirm a date as to when that will be.
check out the website below. it's a great local (vancouver, british columbia) aircooled site with lots of information. become a member, make an introduction and post some pics of your bus and ask a few questions. i know you'll get a great response!! there is also a guy on there named bruce (i know him personally and he is a very good/capable/knowledgeable guy) that does all sorts of aircooled repairs for $25/hour (very reasonable at todays wages). his username is notchback and he has a post on page 2 of the classifieds.

keep me posted!!
cheers
