I am truly dislike being the bearer of bad news. I talked to Anna yesterday and she wanted me to pass along that David died on friday.
I am in complete shock. David died in his sleep. he had been planning on going up to the seattle vintage meet this last weekend. he was vibrant and full of life right up to the end.
the funeral will be on wednesday in la grande, oregon. if any of his friends would like to attend, please PM me for the details.
please post any thoughts or memories that you have of our friend, David. |

Wow, that is horrible. I never met David, but I thoroughly enjoyed the quality and intelligence of his posts. Wasn't he the one who was always thinking of selling a bus of his, then having second thoughts? I think we can all identify with that feeling. He will be missed.

A sad day, and a doubelcab question lingers awaiting DaveM's definitive answer.
I'm going to run an IR in his memory. |

I do not know Dave but he appears to be young, in his mid 40s? If that is the case, wow, so young and so sad. How fragile life is!

Very sad. David was truely inspiring with his passion for vintage buses and his keen eye for detail. All the best to his family and friends. He will be missed.

We never met but I always think of him when I see the original Kamax bolts holding the splash pans on my rear bumper. Years ago he posted on vintagebus searching for some and I thought about sending them but never did.
A great loss. |

WOW. I just cannot believe this. David was one of the coolest VW people I have met.
I had my doubts about whether he would ever finish the double cab, but never would have imagined that it would happen this way.
My prayers to his family. I cannot imagine what they are going through. |
