This is also a Eurovan forum! - as in Vanagon/Eurovan. You can stay ':D'

I hope you saved up for a transmission rebuild... I know of 3 friends with eurovans and all have replaced their auto tranny once, twice or three times. Although I think they are all earlier years like '92-'95.

you can probably squueze some more out of the insurance company by requesting a independent adjuster or arbiter to review the case, maybe gowesty can write you a letter of experience that would help also and as previously stated those receipts for repairs and upkeep help, dont go easily into the night. ive been a nationwide ins agent 16yrs and running. if your not in ahurry foir money take your time do your homeowrk it will pay off in the end

I can attest to that. I saw my offer go from $10K to $22K by going though the independant appraisal process recently.

Anyone know anything about the Mazda Bongo vans (out of Japan I believe)? Ever seen one here? I would be interested in one of those as well, but I'm guessing that they are a pain and expensive to import, just like the other vehicle not made for the US market.

I'm driving a Bongo right now (while overseas - my '81 Westy is in storage). Feel free to ask any questions (PM) or new thread if enough people care about pros & cons of Mazda Bongo Friendee (Auto Free Top).
