I saw a EV on craigslist for 5800 bucks. 2002 EV weekender. Photos looked nice and I figured the seller was missing a "2" in front of the 5800 which is about the starting price for these vans in this condition.

So...I email the seller asking if the 5800 was a typo and if not then what was wrong with it etc. This is what I got back...

Quote:
Hello there,
I received your email regarding my Volkswagen. The car is still available. It has no scratches or any kind of damage. it is located in Crisfield, MD also it will be shipped from there. The price is 5,800$,shipping included, and all the documents will be provided along with it.The shipping will take almost 4-7 days depending of your location. The transaction will be made through a third company for the safety of both of us ,so as we can be sure of the legitimacy of our deal.
I'm a serious seller and a fair trader and I prefer to deal only with a serious buyer. Anyway, I have to let you know that I
want a fast deal because I need the money asap and that is also the reason why I am selling it at a lower price. Please get back to me if you are interested in the purchase and we have a deal!

Best Regards!

Not having a warm and fuzzy at all about this one. It really smells like a scam.

Van is here, owner there, involves a shipper? It's a scam. There might be a legit one of these from time to time, but the description is a standard scam set up.

Best,

Lanval
