Can anyone post any photos or diagrams that show how the rear window is held in place on a 1954 era Cabriolet Beetle? Is the wooden frame clamped around the outer hood with the rubber seal or does it need the padding and inner liner to sandwich it in place?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The wood frame is attached to the main mechanism via a seres of nylon straps to keep it situated in place

Here you go. The nylon straps keep it from pushing through the headliner and the canvas linen liner hold it in position by being nailed to the wood upper frame and the lower rear perimeter wood frame

just go here if you have any other questions...

Excellent link, thanks.

Could you tell me what type of TMI hood material it is? Are you happy with the quality - it looks very good to me.

Love the car.
Cheers.

It's their German Stayfast canvas. I don't know what the thickness is but I am very happy with it. I've had it for almost a year now and it shrink just a tiny tiny bit so it now fits like a glove, no wrinkles, tight as a drum.
