| Sanded the front fenders and hood. Adjusted the steering a wee bit and ordered the steering dampener from the local VW Shop. I try to do a little every day, so by the end of the week I can see something acomplished. All this besides painting the 69 firebird and prepping a 48 Anglia for paint for a friend. Not a bad Saturdays work. |

| I replaced the accelerator pump linkage on the sedan's 34pict3 carb with a spare I had to try to fix the stumble...old linkage was bad and barely did anything. Then I adjusted the mixture and bypass screws. After that it ran much better! For grins I checked manifold vacuum, getting 16-17" at idle. Oh, and I put on a new oil pressure switch, the old one was flaky. |

Yesterday I drove up to Redding (70 mi) to drop off my crank/flywheel/clutch etc. to get balanced for my 2110cc. I am having the same guy hone My AA 90.5 open so I have .0045"clearence.
Today I finished wiping down the chassis with lacquer thinner so tomorrow I can tack rag it anfd shoot a few more coats of high build surfacer on it tomorrow.
I just finished an excellent NY steak dinner at home with some Russian River Damnation belgian ale. I have a good buzz going so I will switch back to Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and go out into the garage and take a dremel to My AL case to smooth out all the stress risers from the factory clearencing. I will have the olympics on in the backround. The Aussies just stole the gold from Chinese in mens diving. |

| I took the steering column apart trying to find the source of my turn signal problem. Found a damaged wire that goes to the flasher and repaired it. Still blowing #1 fuse and no turn signals. Checked the point gap. Started to rain. |

Wow, thats a good haul. I went to my local junyard last week and all I got was a steel degree pulley, 1.5 qt deep sump, and full flow oil system. All made by Gene Berg for $ 30.00. :D |

Afraid all I did with the Bug today was drive it, I've got a lot of yard work that I've been putting off far to long.
Funny thing though, TWICE yesterday I had carloads of young guys (early teens I think), give me a thumbs up and tell me I had a cool car! |

| Squeezed the body moldings on both my bugs just a bit to tighten it up, the molding keeps popping off the plastic clips at the ends. |

| Today I checked oil supply galley in the right hand case half against the Berg blueprinted oil pump. Pretty close. It looks like I will need to shave .040 off of case hole towards the oil pump flange. The case cleaned up pretty fast with the dremel last night. |
