View original topic: drilling mirror extension pin holes

Just thought I would post some photos of how I set up my drill press to drill mirror extension pin holes in new mirrors...bus mirrors I think...I set the extension up first so that the bit would pass thru the pin hole...then screwed the mirror on and drilled the hole starting with a small bit and working my way up.....

I prefer a drop of lock-tight on the mirror threads and skip using the pin. I recommend that folks do not drill my mirror extensions but rather use Loctite® 242® Threadlocker Blue Removable. It will hold the parts together permanently but can still be taken apart later for mirror replacement.

I lost here! Why are you drilling the mirror? :?

The mirror extensions and mirror have a hole for a pin to secure them. The repro mirrors I bought did not have the hole.
