I know this is an ancient thread, but I wanted to ask a question of those folks using the Ron Francis hi-intensity incandescent 1156/1157 bulbs. The website says they run hotter than stock bulbs, as expected since they are something like twice the candlepower (50 v 25?).
I just bought brand new Hella Mexico (elephant foot 3-bulb) tail lights and want to make sure my parking/brake lights are nice and bright. BUT, I don't want to risk damage to the plastic housing or lenses due to the increased heat -- these Hellas weren't cheap!
Can anyone comment on how hot these hi-intensity bulbs get or seen any damage from them? Thanks!
