#1 Disconnect the battery.
#2 Dremel with small wire wheel.
#3 Permatex Dielectric Grease.
You will be good to go... I do this on EVERY connection. All your connections should be copper colored, not green. The dielectric grease will prevent the copper from turning green again. |

A fiberglass pencil is great for tight spots. Get it in the bodywork section of your FLAPS. It's a sanding tool works like a mechanical pencil but with glass fibers. Read the safety instructions though!
Spray the heck out of it. Mine looked like muddy water coming out. Same with dizzy and generator. Spray out your generator too while it's running.
The electrical spray is no residue and non conductive. You can use it as a brake cleaner as well. The cheap stuff in the FLAPS can damage some modern plastics though so don't spray your game controller. I know! The small Radio Shack cans seem to be easier on plastic. The old plastic in a VW is OK though. Just thought I'd warn you. It was my son's controller.

I used the Dremel with the brass wire wheel (lots of brass wire wheels) when I rewired my 69. Cleaned every connection. Even found the ground connections for the taillights in the engine bay. |
