any one got any ideas.....im tryin to get my heaters in good shape for the winter...when im driving at a set speed fast or slow i cant smell anything but if i accelerate fast it smells.....also if its bad heater boxes is there a way to tell if which are good or not b4 you install them.....mine look good but i guess the l-tubes could be rusted

What do you mean it smells? Is there a strong exhaust smell....running rich? If you mean an exhaust leak that is coming into the car. If it is cold now in your neck of the woods....see if there is steam coming out anywhere OTHER than the pea shooters. That would prove you have a leak somewhere.

Gas smell? Exhaust smell?

Gas? Check your carb for leaks, including the accelpump. Maybe you leak gas in the engine bay, it gets sucked into the fan, then in through the heater ducts.

Exhaust? Check your muffler and HE connections, including the heads.
