This thread will probably get moved or locked because its not bus material but... I found a 31 Ford Model A coupe (4 door, suicide doors) yesterday. It is basically the frame, body, glass but it is in great shape. I was only able to find 2 small spots of rust-through.

Like this, but not as nice obviously. They want $2K for it.

I've never seen a 4 door model a coupe, but there's always a first!

You'd have to pay me $2k for an unrestored 28- early 31' fordor sedan! They're full of wood...

? If I'm not mistaken, a "coupe" by definition, is always 2 door. A "sedan" by definition is always 4 door. If this is wrong, I've been misinformed for 30 years.

Model A had *two* different body styles of Fordor Sedans, to help further cloud the issue. One body was built by Murray, and another one was built by Briggs, with almost no interchangability bewteen the body parts. One has a slighly slanted back windshield, and the other one didn't, and that is the easiest way to quickly distinguish which body it is, although I can't remember right now which one is which...

Close... Murray and Briggs did build fordor sedans for ford for 28-31. The bodies were almost identical between the makers with few exceptions for the cages around the body nuts and minor things like that. The biggest and most visible difference is the top of the arches for the windows on the doors. One had an arch, the other was flat across the top. The doors are about the only thing that's not interchangeable between the two.

In April 31', the fordor dropped the visor, and had a slightly slanted front windshield and A pillars as you mentioned. This was just a design change with Murray and Briggs continuing to make this body style. The slant window fordors also have the arched window for both makers, making it harder to tell who made the body. The slant windshield fordors are more desirable since there is considerably less wood. These cars have a metal structure, where the 28- early 31's had a wood substructure.

Briggs also made coupe bodies, but that's another story....
