| a friend is restoring a split bus. he is checking if the vin stamping is correct or "restored". it looks to be a december 63/janualy 64 model, and has a number with the typical after 65 font, and 2 stars in the sides. i have seen later 64 buses still with the earlier 10/11mm font and with no stars. the question is this: which is the first vin that has the number with the stars? possibly the 65 model with the later model/year type coding? Thanks. |

| i've seen on refinements documents that the new stamping system starts in august 64 with 65 model year. is there any possibility that can be around some earlier correct VINs with later format? |
