Of course there is always a lot of talk about bus' catching on fire. Many years ago i put our engine fire out with the only thing i had on me. I had a can of wd40 and two cans of tire sealant.
Obviously the wd40 would have been hellfire but the gooey tire sealant put out the fire in about 3 seconds...and it was not a small fire. So in a pinch or if the one you keep by your drivers door isn't working...seal it!!
Happy ending? We got full insurance (bcaa) before leaving and it was the first night of a cross canada trip. Coverage replaced everything above the engine and we got to meet a really neat guy hiding in the woods outside of Nelson (bc) who had a full vw shop...and he did insurance claims!! |
