My '72 FI wagon was running perfect but it would shift bad (reverse and second would kick) I changed a couple of cracked hoses and now it shifts perfect but wobbles at idle yet it is giving me really high mileage. |

That normal...exept the wobbling. The cracked hoses meant vacuum leaks. The main pressure in your automatic transmission is modulated by vacuum. It shifts rough when either the vacuum is incorrect for the adjustment or the transmission needs to be readjusted to the existing vacuum source. The D-jet injection reads a vacuum leak as signal for enrichment so you get really lousey gas milage with a cracked vacuum hose.
It sounds like you have a few more adjustments to check to get rid of the wobbles. Check timing, plugs and valve adjustment first. Then check teh trigger points. Ray |
