Just because some welds look pretty doesn't necessarily mean they're strong.

Ditto

you get the dime effect if your weld settings are low (at least it helps)
but I run it hotter

looks good welds are not always good welds

This baja is looking mean. I like how that rear end is setup.

Love your build! Inspiring! Keep the pic candy coming. How much wider is that rear torsion housing?

KrAzY-BaJa Mon Jul 12, 2010 5:03 pm

well got the rear brakes all sorted out are done just need to bleed them,
strapped the fuel cell, made a battery holder and mounted it, welded tabs on for fuel pump and regulator, mounted rear shock reservoirs, finished the shift linkage, and finished the steering.

still need ball joint backing plates which are being a pain to find for some reason.
lights and wiring

Sweet !!! Looking nice dude !

Nice build indeed. I like that it has such a mean look to it.
As for the comments on the welds. Welds look good to me, better than most of the crap I see on here. Sometimes stack dime welds are the only way to not burn through on thin wall ( depending on welder ) and you can push heat into the weld on stacked dime welds too.
Keep up the good work.

well so far I havent drove the car yet. still..lol.
the overall quality of the looks of them are not as good as king or fox but thats not a big factor to me :D as long as they dont blow and start leaking they seem great for the $$

geoffwg Tue Sep 07, 2010 3:33 pm

a few post back you said you wanted to get some by pass shocks. are these just temporary?

yes bypass shocks was the original plan but at the time i couldnt afford them and the set up i have now with the bump stops/shocks work very well and it was cheaper.
