They are all the same ad. Some $5,000 , some $5,500.

Just a head's up people. :bus_purple:

I wouldn't assume it is a scam. It doesn't appear that he is representing it as being local to the market he is advertising it in.

GBA 88West LA Tue Feb 03, 2009 2:14 pm

pretty cheap  ? has anyone seen it  ?

jfarsang Tue Feb 03, 2009 2:15 pm

Edited. You're right.

I'm interested and sent an email.

If it's real, then it's an amazing deal.

If it's a scam, then I'll bet he/she is getting hammered with emails.

madspaniard Tue Feb 03, 2009 2:17 pm

wha? no posting in the SF Bay Area, I'm offended!

hiram6 Tue Feb 03, 2009 4:17 pm

El scammo!!!!

The reason I say that is I remember seeing that exact text for a different scam Eurovan sale a few months back. How do I remember? The "zincked" reference.

I'm sure anyone interested in buying would be asked to forward a deposit to "hold" the vehicle until you could come inspect it. Deposit and seller would then vanish.

GWTWTLW Tue Feb 03, 2009 4:22 pm

It's been flagged for removal in Portland....

jfarsang Tue Feb 03, 2009 4:38 pm

There you go.

No one advertises a 15k vehicle for 5k in every state.

Scam :!:

GWTWTLW Tue Feb 03, 2009 5:09 pm

They've all been removed now.

Good catch!!

At least I got a screenshot for any future potential ads this person may put up.

Of course it does, Eurovans have a bunch more power. If it was a Vanagon, it'd only be in Boise by now.

Its either Russians or Romanians, constantly posting scam ads on CL. Its gotten so bad as of late, if I wanted to I could literally spend all day just on the Boise section, flagging ads.

I check my email this morning and low and behold a reply from this seller a month later.

hiram6 Tue Feb 24, 2009 8:46 am

So, he's selling from the UK?? Yeah, right.

GWTWTLW Tue Feb 24, 2009 10:25 am

I had the exact same email this morning. I just googled his email address and it shows a Craigslist listing for Ferarri in San Francisco. Googling his name shows a Law Office in Maryland. I just shot him an email that I wanted to look at it in person.

"I'm sorry for my late response but I had a buyer offering me the selling price but unfortunately his loan didn't get approved. The selling price is $5,000, if you want to buy it, e-mail me with any questions that you may have. You can see more pictures of the van here:

On the right side of the screen on that screen capture, there is an arrow next to reply. Click on that, and go to show original. Copy all the header information, and paste it in this website.

http://www.ip-adress.com/trace_email/

It can trace back a lot of emails to the source . It will not work for tracing an email from gmail though. I bait those people for fun sometimes, to waste their time. I have had those people who claim to be on a USAF base and that they can not sell their car, and if you buy it, it will be shipped back by USAF cargo airplane to your local airport.

Of course thats impossible though.

GWTWTLW Tue Feb 24, 2009 10:57 am

I just traced it back to an IP address in the Bronx.
