I want to know whats the best oil for this engine. Does this engine also have have an oil filter? EverettB Mon Oct 26, 2015 10:22 pm Oil: Basically it doesn't matter. Here's the oil thread on the site if you want to check it out: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=220755 There is an oil filter in the bottom center of the case but it's just a little screen, not a big filter like you may be used too on more modern cars. You clean and re-use it when you change the oil.
