So last night I pulled the head off of cylinder 1 & 2. One of the head studs came out, and then tonight I pulled the other side and another one came out. Is this a big deal?

if it just twisted out of the case, you can just thread it back in...

See if you can torque the headstuds and nuts back on properly without them pulling out. If they are pulling out, you need case savers installed...

well it could be more than likely that there was so much crud on the tips of the threads the nut couldnt come loose, so it tool the stud with it. put 2 nuts on the opposite end of the single nut, and torque them down on each other. then using 2 wrenches, 1 on each end, try to thread the stuck nut downward to clean out the threads, then work it up to the top.

i did this to multiples of mine.

Yeah, I need to clarify. They both unscrewed when I was removing them, the nuts were stuck. I also soaked every one with PB blsaster for a whole nite too. They aren't stripped. Thanks a bunch.

if they are really rusted on there, put the 2 nuts on the other end and tighten them against each other, then heat up the stuck one with a blow torch and get it really red. then try to break them loose.

If they were loose for a long time they could have caused the holes in the case to become "enlarged". When it comes time to torque the heads back down these enlarged holes may not be able to handle the torque and will strip. If this is the case (pun intended :D ) then you will need to have case savers installed.

Better to put the heads back on, torque them down and see if you need to send the case out for repair now... than wait until you are reassembling it and find out you have another delay.
