I can narrow it down to a range of years and obvious European decent (eastern block, probably), but other than that, Id be searching blindly.

You must watch "Top Gear". It's a GAZ Chaika.

You know what's funny though? I was assuming it was eastern bloc and that even though it looked like a 50's car, my year range was somewhere into the 70's.
Countries like that, just don't have the money to re-tool like we do. They were producing early 60's Ford Falcon's in Africa all the way into the mid-eighties.

Gutbrod

I'm cheating though. The cars looks familiar, but I don't know them by sight. I do know where to look, though...

No cheating!

Yep! Well done.

Russ Wolfe Fri Apr 03, 2009 12:22 pm

Not a good enough picture originally to do much zooming on the scripts on the car.

///Mink Fri Apr 03, 2009 12:28 pm

OK, here's an easy one:

Nope, but I see the resemblance.

Lair Fri Apr 03, 2009 12:47 pm

It's a Malcolm.

The Sonnet is tiny, and doesn't have fast & furious doors.

that looks like a Bricklin SV-1

Correct. I presume that's what Lair meant as well when he said Malcolm (Malcolm Bricklin, also responsible for bringing us the Yugo).

atmellovw Fri Apr 03, 2009 1:11 pm

They are restoring a Bricklin on "Overhaulin'".
