Just cut em out and weld in some reinforcements, then put spaced out wood so you can see the moving ground, that'd be cool. |

This is way cool, that car looks way happy just to be spinning its wheels again. You did it a great service by pulling it from the yard. I think it looks awesome the way it is... Sure its not pretty, but its just as banged up as the life its led. Those are battle scars, and just as this one almost succombed to the shredder it got one last bit of fight and you put it back in the ring.
You sir, are a good person lol |

Or plexiglass...
Sort of tempting!
Do you have a thread for the buildup of your Super(s)?

Looks good, are those 185s? And in terms of doing the pans, keep tylenol on hand... lots and lots of tylenol.
And the rear decklid, is it the original color on the underside? Am just thinking you might be able to pull that paint off of it (looks like spraypaint) and get back to the OG paint. |

The tires are 195/65R15
The rear decklid isn't the original (as far as I can tell). It seems to be from another Beetle...It's got a yellow OG paint on the inside, then it was painted red on the outside, then the PO painted it green to install on my Beetle.
I do have an extra decklid with the OG green paint and "VOLKSWAGEN" script that was inside the car on the back seat when I bought the car. If I can, I will get pics of both of them. :D |

Well, I haven't done much with mine so far. But tomorrow I'm taking out the interior to cut out the floorpans. So I'm pretty excited!
This is my first car! :D
It was $700, which isn't too bad!!

It is very bad way to support the rear of the car.
Put the jack stand under the torsion tube

Is that the tube that comes out from the body inside the rear fender?
And thanks for warning me. 8) |

I do want to see a buildup thread for your Supers, even if they're all in one thread. I love 73s...
Maybe a "this is my Super" type thread |

We actually didn't use the motor (to my knowledge).
We used the brace things that run under it from the front to the rear...or is that part of the motor :?:
AND
major update coming soon :D |

OK!!!
Today I removed the seats and carpet in my Beetle!
I only owned him eleven months... Took me long enough to do something to the car...
Pictures coming soon!
I had no idea there were that many holes in my floorpan! 8-[
Tomorrow I am going to cut the old rusty floorpans out so I can replace them! My car is finally getting close to being road-worthy! :D |

Nice save on the Super. I think I saved my super from the junkyard indirectly.
Bought it for $400 for a charity on eBay

Here are my Super's floorpans. Today I'm going to attempt to cut the old ones out...but I probably won't get to putting the new ones in for a few days. Keep checking this topic! :D |
