The 2litre Air cooled engine in the vanagon.
would it, does it, resemble any of the previous types fitted to bays and such?
and finaly are the parts interchangable? |

It's the same 2.0 as in the bay, a few small modifications but nothing hard to work with.
In the US vanagons only got the 2.0 but in europe you could get a 1600cc engine I think.
If you are trying to put a bay 2.0 in a vanagon or visa versa, it's a pretty easy swap. |

Unless you have a 79 cali bay the exhaust is not interchangeable since it has square instead of oval exhaust ports. So if you are doing a swap between a bay engine and vanagon engine, you will need to do the exhaust as well.
