Just a stunning "Tour de Force" Rinie. In case you don't know the definition of "Tour de Force" it's "unlikely to be equalled."

Can you image a Ghia better executed? The list of ultra rare items on this car is staggering. When Rinie said it's taken 9 years to complete, my reaction was "is that all"? Some of those NOS parts you could search for all your life and still not find.

You're going to be beating off the magazine photographers at Hessisch Rinie...the competition amongst them is going to be fierce.

Incredible work! That's a really Nice Ghia you have there. Glad to see the use of NOS. Again, amazing job! :D

Absolutely stunning! Congratulations, Rinie. Be proud of it - you've made a gorgeous Ghia. Thanks for sharing it with us!

In my opinion, the best Lowlight Ghia, that I have ever seen in restored condition.

Well done!

Since this thread has been brought back to the first page can we have some current photos? I must say that an early Ghia that is all stock on wide whites is a beautiful sight. Best looking VW in factory form IMO.

Thanks again for the compliments!

Car is still in similar condition. I have not driven the car too often this year. I do not have additional pictures of the car but I recently saw my old 59 Ghia at a meeting and had to take a picture from the 56 and 59 together.

Regards,
Rinie

Wow, this has to be the nicest Ghia on the Planet! It really makes my 57 look just like a turd….but my car had a hard life before I saved it….your car is an inspiration, thanks for building it and sharing it with us.

You truley have a very beautiful car. I restore vw's and have done a couple ghias over the years but never a lowlight. I have restored buses beetles and ghias and can testify that a full blown resto on a ghis is by far more expensive and time consuming than any other vw model i have restored. You really have done your lowlight true justice. Thanks for sharing it with us!

Ghias are the sexiest cars out there, lowlights are in a class of their own and Rinies is top of the class. Truly inspiring, Thank you.

DAMN.... That is so nice...

I would consider that FINE ART.. :!:

Great job :D

Enjoy the pictures!

Best regards,

Rinie

Rinie, where did you find the Motometer gauge mount? Looks really good with the pressure gauge.

I got a scan of this postcard from someone, was it you?

I'm sure Rinie's is the real thing but Brezelwerks makes a very convincing repro:

I could not find the words to express how stunning your Ghia was when you first introduced us to her. I still can't...........

Rinie's his car is one of the 20 nominees. With a internet poll people can vote on the cars, The cars with the most votos will be shown on the AutoRai.

The voting has ended and sadly our efforts fell a little short. Rinie came second...thanks to all who voted. :)

56GoldeGhia Tue Mar 01, 2011 1:47 pm

Thanks for all those who voted for my car.

And John, thanks again for your effort to get everybody involved. I really appreciate that!

Looking at the response, I still feel like a winner! :D

Regards,
Rinie

John Moxon Tue Mar 01, 2011 2:08 pm

I was sad that it won't be going to the show Rinie...just think what they're missing out on. :?

You only have to look at your Ghia to know you're the winner. :D

pbaptist Tue Mar 01, 2011 2:23 pm

Yes, too bad Rinie ended second, but there is still a change that Rinie will be invited.

In the original invitation to join this voting, it was said that 2 or 3 cars from each cetegory will be invited to the show. On the website it was said that only the winner will be shown. This is confusing, so we will see what happen.

And I also have some news for you, Rinie.
I am working to get an article about your car in the Dutch biggest newspaper The Telegraaf. They are looking for the best looking ghia in the Netherlands.
