I know its not a 25 or 36 or 40, but talk about vintage SPEED!
all those folks who stop and talk to you at a gas station and say, "hey, my friend had one of them bugs with a porsche engine in it!" and we all roll our eyes a bit.
This bug is no joke, had the pleasure of checking it over last weekend at a show.

I like that this car has a "rally" car offset on the front!
Too many cars with short beams today in my eye... it looks nice, ok, but to drive quick in the corner it should look like this.
Also, it seemed that there is some negative camber in the front.... very tricky to get that! |

VERY tricky on a 65 and earlier car with linkpin suspension, but very easy to get on a 66 and later car with balljoint suspension.
I think the car above is a 64/65? I dont know my beetles that well and I did not find the owner of the car. |

| Story goes on that car a mechanic at a Seattle or Portland Porsche Dealership had the 63 bug ( If it's the same one with the little bubble in the decklid) and bought a wrecked 62 Carrere 11 and swapped over the entire drivetrain to the bug. It was in HVW'S in 1972 I think. Very cool car and yes the engine could buy a very nice mansion. 8) |
