I have a set of ribbed doors from an oval. will my original split door handle mechanism and window mechanism work in the oval doors? |

They should work. The only real visual difference once the door panels are on is the inside door handle is slightly lower and the door check strap is different. But anything can be modified. |

The window mechanism from a split door won't work on an oval. You'll need to get mostly oval guts to make the doors work. I can't say about the latch mechanism, but oval ones are not hard to find.
The outside and inside handles will work.
The check strap/rod is something you'll have to figure out. The split body has a vertical slot for the sheet strap that limits the door opening. An oval used a round rod. |

Will the oval guts work with original 1 piece glass?
Thanks |

I have an early oval door that was converted to a split window regulator, one piece glass and door check strap. (I know it's a split regulator because it takes 10 1/2 turns in the oppostite direction.) I didn't do the work myself, but obviously it can be done. |

If its an oval door it would've had a wind wing. So the top of the door would have a dog leg in it. Using one piece split glass will work but modification of the door to accept the scraper would be needed. |
