Have a Q
have 4 standard speedo pods, and one 1947 dash.
As far as I can tell none of the pods are pre 49, one is brown others are black.
None of the pods fit in the speedo pod cut out.
It seems that the pods are just a bit too long, (side to side) to fit.
I will state that the 47 dash that I have is not in situe, rather was cut out of a junker with a long history of life outside in the weather; but the OG pod was in place before I bought the dash. (I could'nt 'afford' the asking at the time 6-7 years ago - yes I am kicking myself).
So is there a size difference between pre 49 pods and post 49 pods?
Or is it maybe a twist in the dashboard??
I don't wan't to take a ball-pean to the dash until I know more.
Second part of my question: how do I ID different ages on standard dash pods .
With the four that I have I have :
`2 colors,
2 light tube/light clip layouts,
3 hold down layouts for speedos,
2 layouts for grounding,
3 kinds of VW insignia;
various numbering/labelling and
4 different parts labelling:
( none,{with old style VW with rim hiding the gear tooth part},
2911,{with 'K' above},
3564 with 'K'above, and
2 with L 141. 041; no letter.)
Any help on these?? |
