| Short version. Send an ignition to Gabe for a rekey. Rekey works great, ignition switch does not. I have another switch... question is how do you remove the cylinder on the ignition switch? I would assume I could then just swap the guts, problem solved. |

Didn't he test it? |

I switched my cylinder from one switch to another on my 62 once. But it's been so long now that I can't remember what I did to get that small retaining clip off the end of it. Maybe just tapped on it with a punch/hammer. I just searched the Gallery and found Bruce's photo of an older switch!

Have never had an issue with Gabe. Tumblers turn (his task) but ignition switch won't engage the starter, acc works. Put the original (after market ignition switch) back in and it works fine. Therefore, bad switch. |

Thanks Glutamodo, that makes sense. Looking at the ignition, it has got to be damn near impossible to get the clip off that cylinder. |

| I can't remember how I got mine off now, but to put it back on, I recall that I used a hollow drift or made something similar out a piece of metal pipe, to pop it back on. |
