Is Speedwell USA still around?
They had some interesting 36hp parts in one of the VW magazines a few years ago. Venturis for 28 PCI's and modified 36 hp heads.
Any contact?
Thanks!

Ray Shubert is still around. He is the gentleman that owns Speedwell USA. He is totally buried in restoration work on some very rare coach built cars. Once in a while he can snagged by phone or e-mail. He is one of the best metal fabricators on the planet along with Mark at Metelcraft in Ohio, and makes amazing old speed parts when he has the time. He has helped me in the past. Tim |

I second that!
Be patient as the above comment about being buried with projects is so true, but he will get back to you. He was at the Bug-In with lots of his goodies and I just happen to pick up a few more for my 36 stroker. So over time I have picked up from Speedwellusa..... an oil baffle, vented stock valve covers, pre-A Porsche style articulated lifter inserts and most recently had Ray rebuild my Solex 40 P-II's with his velocity stacks, put them on his new Okrasa manifolds , installed his 1.25 ratio rockers and capped them off with his bolt on valve covers. Hope I didn't miss anything. Every thing is top quality! oh yeah, and his Denzel linkage.

Yeah, he was at Bug O selling some stuff. Asked about the sebring style exhaust, was told it would be awhile. Luckily a friend of mine had a spare and hooked me up this past weekend! |

I own a Speedwell blower and I'm finally getting close to running it, but has anyone else actually run one?
Are there any reviews? |

I'm anticipating a major increase in low end torque, which should make driving fun.
Any other review comments? Easy tuning?
Do you have any other modifications? |

It’s good to know I’m not the only one who thought that. I was really hoping he would start selling products again. |

Speedwell site now has intake manifolds up for sale online! Just in case anyone was watching and hoping for something specific (I'm anxiously awaiting 6-hole Denzel-style crank pulley!).

Dang 375+shipping for the Okrasa manifolds.. I thought the $250 that they use to be listed at was alot ....im just getting behind in my dream projects prices keep going up ....I wonder why the manifolds are expensive compared to the 1600 dual manifolds....why can't they find a/ the companys who makes the 1600cc manifolds/ parts ... so that the 36hp parts can be as close to the 1600cc parts .....I get it demand but I guaranteed that if more new 36hp performance parts were made just like the 1600cc more 36hp engines would be getting build/ built because the parts would be available and cheaper than what they are today ...... |
